Housing and Urban Development: On March 18, the department of Housing and Urban develpment suspended foreclosures and issued a moratorium on eveictions for 60 days for anyone with a FHA insured mortgage. Their webpage has a great deal of information about federal housing programs. Always contact your lender as soon as you realize you will be affected by COVID-19. You can use a free tool to write a letter to your landlord giving the required notice, here: https://www.norent.org Stanislaus County Eviction Moratorium: On March 31, 2020 the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution limiting residential and commercial evictions through May 31, 2020. The resolution makes clear that this is not a “rent holiday” and tenants are still responsible for paying rent. Local Information: The Modesto Irrigation District, Turlock Irrigation District, City of Turlock and PG&E have waived late fees during the COVID-19 The City of Modesto has not waived late fees. Shutoffs for non-payment have been stayed due to an emergency order of the a Public Utilities Commission.
